Water Warden at Rivers of Sofia

At the end of August, I participated in Rivers of Sofia with Water Warden, sharing my work and exploring our connection to urban waterways.

During the festival, I led two guided walks along the Perlovska River and gave a lecture. These were opportunities to discuss rivers, water quality, and how environmental data can help us better understand our waterways.

At the Water Warden stand, visitors could learn about the project and explore what I do. Water Warden combines satellite observations and environmental data to track changes in lakes and reservoirs, complementing field observations and laboratory testing with a broader view over time.

The festival offered a welcome opportunity to bring this work into conversations beside one of Sofia’s rivers. Thank you to The Collective Foundation (Колективът) for organising the festival, and to everyone who joined the walks and lecture or stopped by the stand.
